My Maternity leave begins tomorrow... Please see Coach Cullen with LAX related concerns

Hello!

My last day of school is tomorrow before I begin my maternity leave.  My due date is quickly approaching (October 8, 2012) and Baby Brunner could surprise us at any time. 

I wish you all Happy Holidays!  I will send out some pictures of Baby Brunner upon his arrival.

Ladies!  Please work hard with Coach Cullen during winter conditioning!  I am super excited for this season!  We hope you are all spending time with your wall ball groups and practicing!!!!!!!

Rally in the Valley (message from Mrs. Cindy)

Congratulations to all who proudly represented Centennial High School and the Lady Knights at the "Rally in the Valley" lacrosse tournament.  The ladies were undefeated going into the championship game,losing to Lassiter in overtime 6-7!  Below is a photo of the team with their runner up medals.  The medals were presented to each girl, "olympic style," by Ryder Ewing - a Jr. Walton Raider lacrosse player who has fought her own battle with cancer.  The proceeds from the tournament will be used to continue Ryder's efforts in fundraising childhood brain tumor research!

 

Thank you to players Caleigh Amaru, Lucy Barton, Emma Evers, Erin Schwartzenfeld, Becca Davis, Savanna Karwoski, Eliza Bergman, Katie Ciardello, Cecily Dallow, Amy Martin, Isabel Carvallo and Lindsay Atkins for your wonderful participation!  Thank you to Greg Martin and Stuart Barton to coordinating the sidelines during the games, to Ama Couch for coordinating our participation in tournament, and to all who came out and cheered on this lovely day!  And thank you most of all to our HEALTHY GIRLS - who make it all worth while!

Congrats on the big win over Mill Creek!

Congrats on the big win over Mill Creek!  Mill Creek was ranked 7th in the state.  Congratulations!  Amy Martin had 5 goals to lead the offense.  Katie and Becca each added one goal and one assist.  Lucy Barton had 20 saves and 12 interceptions.  Eliza Bergman helped the team win 3 draws and she had 3 ground balls which caused turnovers for the Lady Knights!  The DEFENSE did an amazing job of holding the Mill Creek to 4 goals!  Keep it up Defense!  The midfield did a great job of swarming and double teaming the ball!  Way to GO Knights!

Parents and Fans- Please come out and support the Lady Knights as they battle Chattahoochee on Monday night at 7:30 (at Hooch). 

Congratulations to the Varsity Lady Knights for their big win over Northview!

The Lady Knights lacrosse team defeated the Northview Titans 11-8. Lucy Barton had 12 interceptions and 20 saves. Becca Davis led the team in scoring with 4 goals. Katie Ciardello had three goals and Emma Evers had one goal and one assist. Grace tavani, Amy Martin and Eliza Bergman all added one goal. Defensively Laura George had two interceptions and Amy Martin had three. Laura Douglas , Casey Dreyfuss, Lindsay Atkins, and Kayla Johnson forced multiple turnovers and collectively had 12 loose ball controls to bring the ball to the offensive end of the field.Way to work HARD and be TENACIOUS!  

Your coaches are SO proud of you!  Keep up the hard work the rest of the season and stay focused!

Free High School Sports Physicals:

Get a jump on your paperwork for next season and the next school year!  North Fulton Hospital and Resurgens Orthopaedic are offering high school sports physicals to all private and public schools within North Fulton County.  This physical will "cover" you for the following school year and it's FREE!

* Because the dates conflict with the CHS cross country camp, our "usual" team camp at Jacksonville University has been replaced.  Coach Brunner has found another camp, that is "team" in focus, at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.   The details are still being ironed out (cost, travel etc.) but this camp is MUCH closer than JU, just north of Spartanburg and roughly a 3 hour drive from here.  Please block out this week on your summer calendar.  Coach Brunner would like every girl who plans to try out for the team next season to attend.
